ABOUT US:
- Square Chapel Centre for the Arts (www.squarechapel.co.uk/about/about.htm) is an English theatre company which organises an annual 2 week cultural festival for young people & children called ?The July Project? - www.thejulyproject.co.uk/
- The Regional Language Network Yorkshire & Humber (RLN YH ? www.rlnyh.com) is a government sponsored organization that promotes international communication skills.
PARTNER SEARCH:
We are looking for European project partners who are involved in existing cultural festivals in:
- France ? Germany - other European countries
PROJECT AIMS:
- to create a European festival ?road show? for young people to visit and participate in each other?s festival performances
- to allow young people and school children to work together, through various cultural activities, to develop their ideas of "what does being European mean ?"
- to produce a play (or other work) which each country could perform nationally to various audiences after the life of the initial project
- to create a more European dimension to ?The July Project? 2 week cultural festival
- to support actors / festival organizers / young people to develop their knowledge about other languages and cultures and to understand their European Community better
- to build long term relationships with all the partners involved.
PROJECT BID - to be made to the European Culture Fund.
