Vorbereitung: wir bitten Sie im Vorfeld, Ihre Texte, die Sie behandelt haben moechten, unserem Trainer, Don Ferguson bereits vor Seminarbeginn (zusammen mit einer groben Uebersetzung dieser) zukommen zu lassen, damit er sich damit auseinandersetzen kann.
Every word in every language has colour and shades of meaning. The writer uses these colours and shades of meaning to paint a mental image just as the painter uses light and shadow to create form and volume on the canvas and then adds colour to give it life.
In this 3 day seminar you will use an English translation of your work as well as simple drawing and illustration exercises to explore these nuances of meaning from a completely new perspective. The seminar will be conducted in English and you will be asked to discuss your work as much as possible in English. However, the seminar leader speaks German so it is not necessary to be fluent in English. Ability to read and understand a language usually comes before the ability to speak the language well. If you can understand most of this text you probably have enough English to benefit from this seminar.
This seminar has been designed and will be conducted by the American artist Don Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson has worked for more than 20 years as an interdisciplinary artist with film, video, theatre, dance, music and painting. The Colour of Words is Mr. Fergusons most recent experiment in finding ways to bring artists together from various disciplines to explore their work with new vision.
